National Beanpole Week, 21st to 26th April 2012.
Run by the Small Woods Association, this is an annual event which was first held in 2008, and celebrates Britain’s traditionally managed coppiced woodlands.
Gardeners can support National Beanpole Week, Britain’s coppiced woodlands and the enviroment, by choosing eco-friendly, locally-grown coppiced beanpoles instead of imported bamboo canes.
It really makes good sense to use more British coppice wood products in the garden, so I’m adding my voice to the call for gardeners and growers to switch to locally-grown coppiced beanpoles and pea sticks -Bob Flowerdew
Events are being held around the country so we can all support and see first hand the benefits of preserving the ancient skills and traditions of Britain’s coppiced woodlands.
